I'm the Lead Engineer for the Networking & Telecommunications department at the University of Pennsylvania and the MAGPI GigaPoP. I'm involved in campus and gigapop network design and related research and development. I serve as one of the University's engineering representatives to Internet2. I am also involved in the design and operation of various key computing services for the university (DNS, DHCP, Authentication, E-mail, Web, VoIP etc.). Some of my areas of interest include computer and network security, distributed systems, and high performance networking. Occasionally, I write programs in C, perl, and (increasingly) python.

I received both my undergraduate and graduate education at Penn and have a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and Engineering, and a Masters degree in Computer and Information Science from the School of Engineering and Applied Science.

Some of my non professional interests include photography, freshwater aquariums, martial arts (Shito-ryu Karate), soccer, and world travel. I'm a member of a few professional societies: Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), SIGCOMM and USENIX. I'm also a member of the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), The Sierra Club, and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
