PennNet-21 Strategy Document on Web (HTTP) Authentication

PROBLEM STATEMENT

It is desirable to have a system for authenticating access to web based resources in a cryptographically secure fashion and that leverages the university's central authentication system. Existing authentication mechanisms in the HTTP protocol have been inadequate for our needs.
